Quartz composite slabs for countertops and surfaces
Silestone slabs contain 93% natural quartz aggregate mixed with polyester resin binder and pigments. Material processed under high pressure and vibration. Surface polished to 45-50° gloss level. Density: 2.4-2.5 g/cm³. Flexural strength exceeds 50 MPa. Water absorption under 0.02%. Compressive strength 200-250 MPa. Mohs hardness 6-7. Thermal shock resistance rated high. Slab dimensions typically 120" x 55" or 144" x 65". Thicknesses: 12mm, 20mm, 30mm. Non-combustible, Class 1 fire rating.
Suitable for horizontal countertops, vertical backsplashes, and interior wall cladding. Non-porous composition prevents bacterial growth and liquid penetration. Maintains integrity under thermal cycling -20°C to 120°C. Scratch resistant but requires cutting board use to avoid surface marks. Chemical resistant to acids, bases, household cleaners. UV stable, no color fading under direct sunlight. Does not require sealing. Professional fabrication required due to brittle quartz nature. 25-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
